Return to Honor and Save The American Republic

One of many in the Hero Generation

This Veteran’s Day we honor those who have served our country.  I am asking everyone to serve our country.  You don’t have to be in the military to sacrifice for our nation.  The best thing you can do is return to living an honorable life.  Pay for what you use.  Work for what you need.  Stop taking from government programs, and stop asking for new ones to be put in place.  Live your life in a way that helps you see beyond your personal desires and expect more from yourself in terms of charity.  Give to those in need.  The more we give, the less the government will be needed.   In the words of Winston Churchill, “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”  If we want to maintain our republic in this country, we must be responsible, charitable, and honorable.

As a follow-up to the last post, it is important to understand how hyper-inflation could affect our country.  We must recognize that tough times are ahead.  We can drag this on, or have some pain for a short time by returning to proper principles.  Here is the link to the article The National Inflation Association (click here for the pdf) put out on food prices if we begin to experience hyper-inflation.  This article also has some excellent information on how the DOW Jones compares with Gold prices.

The best way to avoid some of the pain is to store for the days ahead and give where we can.   Create ways to save, or better yet, produce.  My neighbors recently got bee hives.  They are doing their part in becoming more self-reliant.  One hive can produce up to 50 lbs of honey per year.  Another neighbor just installed solar tubing to heat the water for the radiant system in his home.  My husband’s company CRS Mechanical did the installation.  Not only are you using renewable energy, but you are self-reliant and creating liberty for yourself and your family.  Geo-thermal heating and cooling is another way to use the energy from the ground to help create less dependence on the grid.  Cleve has been excited about the possibility of creating real liberty through alternative energy sources.

We have asked much of those in the armed forces, but it is time to ask more from ourselves.  I have many nephews currently serving in the military, and the one pictured above, Jonathon, was just shipped to Iraq.  If we can become a people who are educated, prepared, and demand that our country be put back on the right track in all aspects, we will be able to bring these men and women home to their families.

I believe in the words of Thomas Jefferson when he said, “Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations – entangling alliances with none.”

There is one person that seems to have the most liberty-minded thinking in Washington.  Please listen to the words of Congressman Ron Paul:
