With the latest monetization of our debt to the tune of $600 Billion on November 3, I thought I would post an article on preparedness. We are powerless to stop the snowball that is coming toward our monetary system. Nevertheless, there are things you can do so you will not have to fear or worry. We are likely to see serious inflation hit soon, and even if we do not, it never hurts to prepare.
The two most important things in uncertain times are food and medicine. My family is constantly working on keeping a good supply of both. I have put together a simple Excel spreadsheet that can be downloaded from this site on the right hand side in the area called “FREE STAR FILES” that will help you with your food storage. Or you can simply click here. All you need to do is plug in the number of people in your family and the number of months you would like to have food on hand. All of the items can be stored for a good number of months and up to 20 years, depending on how you have it stored. This does not include fruits and vegetables, but can add those through either gardening or other canned items to augment this list. Buy what you know you will eat, and store it in a manner that will last.
My husband and I get buckets from Industrial Container in Salt Lake City, and then we use either dry ice or other methods to take the oxygen out of the buckets, and seal them up. The other important thing in times of crisis is medicine. You may be thinking about simple medications like Tylenol and ibuprofen. Those are good, but they aren’t going to help you if there are infections and viruses. There are a myriad of natural methods that can help a number of aliments. I’ve come to like herbs and essential oils the most. I recently began acquiring some of these things in my home, and my family is using them first, before we go to the doctor. In many cases, we end up not needed to go at all. We’ve been able to handle most things without prescription drugs. The type of oils and herbs do make a difference.
My favorite herbs are Dr. Christopher’s, and my favorite oils are dōTerra. Studying herbs with my children has been a fun experience, and learning about the oils has been amazing.
We cured a baby chicken with oregano oil, that I am sure would have died otherwise. Everything we read said a vet giving antibiotics could only cure this disease, once identified. Since the oregano oil carries anti-biotic properties we used it on the infected area, and one week later, our chicken was able to go back into the hen-house with the rest. We use it in our home regularly now, and continually add to our knowledge through study and experiment. It’s amazing how simple it can be to cure things at home with the things put right here on the earth.
Have a 72 hour kit for each member of your family. Be sure your little ones can carry their own. And if you have a baby, have diapers and formula in a kit just for them.
It will be much easier to buy these things now before inflation kicks in or hard times come because of employment issues. When you have helped yourself, then you will be able to help your family, friends, and neighbors in difficult times. This is a Fourth Turning, and things can change very quickly for the good and the bad during these times. As the Boy Scouts always say, BE PREPARED!
